The only issue that I do have with certain doctrines (many of them claim there is no doctrine to parenting styles, but feed your child some toast at 8 months of age in front of a ‘natural’ parent’ and watch what happens) is how unforgiving and judgemental certain parents practicing them can be. Usually in my experience, they are the first to declare how much they hate unnecessary judgements and aim implicitly not to judge others, (as they grimace when you interrupt a ‘gentle parent’ to use the word ‘don’t’ when you are disciplining your child) when in fact their actions seem to be more judgemental than say a parent who does not follow a particular parenting type.
